I don’t like to give world events or news much energy. I prefer to stay in my own lane and create my own reality. But I woke up to the news of yet another random shooting in the United States.
It seems like the chaos has not let up since 2020 and some predict that it’s not going to.In a world that is wild, big and complicated, and ultimately out of our control, we have tools at our fingertips to carve a bubble of well-being that can be stronger than any kind of fuckery or illness be it physical or mental…
From that bubble you create, it will radiate outward and grow. And you will be in a place of well-being only you make.
Stay grounded. Explore practices that allow you to stay in your body. Daily movement is essential for this. Do not watch the news.
The term resourcing comes from somatic trauma work and it means what it implies. Take stock of what is really true in this moment and yes this means looking at life half-full. Your objective mind will be helpful in this moment rather than descending into a worst-case scenario.
I like to take it a step further and resource what you do have in your kitchen cabinet, your friends, your community, your neighbors, your immune system, your good habits, and all the times life showed up and blessed you.
Which leads me to trusting life and essentially “god” and what you do not have control over. By tuning in. You affirm to yourself your rightness in the world and therefore you do not have even declare your safety.
Because as a child of this universe, you ARE.
